The small-scale DAB multiplex for North London has launched with a line-up of 26 digital radio stations.
The multiplex, operated by U.DAB, had previously been operating in Trial form with three transmitters.
Now the fully licensed multiplex has twice the number of transmitters, covering four million adults across North and Central London. U.DAB say that the improved coverage will provide a better experience for the range of radio stations carried on the multiplex.
The stations carried on the multiplex at launch are Reprezent, Rinse FM, Resonance, Resonance Extra, Nagrecha Radio, Rainbow Radio, The Beat London, Radio Caroline, Select Radio, Kool FM, CDNX (Camden Xperience), Soho Radio, Starpoint Soul, Solar Radio, Asian Star Radio, LGR (London Greek Radio), Delite Radio, Angel Vintage Ldn, Ruach Radio, Fun Kids, Liberty Radio, GreekBeat Radio, Polish Radio, House FM, Shine 879 and Hellas Radio UK.
The North London multiplex is one of several small-scale DAB multiplexes in the capital. East London and Essex Digital, South of the River Digital Radio and City West Digital also cover parts of London.
Martin Spencer, founder of U.DAB Ltd, said:
“The management team and investors of U.DAB are delighted to announce completion of the largest SSDAB multiplex in the UK. It has taken significant time and effort to finally achieve this, and the steady commitment of those many stations that have remained with us over the years is much appreciated. We can now look forward to an exciting future with a fantastic spectrum of community and independent local commercial stations on U.DAB, continuing to broaden the distinctive and worthwhile range of DAB listening choices for London we’ve pioneered since 2015.”
The multiplex officially launched on Monday 5th January 2026.
