Two new Union JACK stations launch on digital radio

Two new radio stations playing rock and dance music have launched on digital radio.

Union JACK Rock and Union JACK Dance will “share the same DNA” as the existing Union JACK station, playing only British music and comedy.

All three Union JACK stations will have collaborations with the UK comedians and support new talent. During 2020 Union JACK has joined up with Brian Blessed, who launched his first podcast with the station, and The Chase’s Mark Labbett who hosts an interactive quiz show. Satirical impressionist Josh Berry performs the award-nominated Josh Berry’s Fake News.

British rock artists played on Union JACK Rock include classic rock names Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Genesis and Whitesnake. The station also plays more recent tracks from Stereophonics, Oasis, Snow Patrol and Arctic Monkeys.

The dance station plays UK dance artists like Massive Attack, Utah Saints, Spandau Ballet and 808 State.

Union JACK Rock and Union JACK Dance are DAB+ radio stations and a compatible radio is required to hear the stations.

Clive Dickens, Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of the JACK Radio Group, said: “The launch of Union JACK Rock and Union JACK Dance allows us to strengthen the offering for our national audience, who can now enjoy the brilliant comedy that is at the heart of our Union JACK brand with a wider choice of British music genres.”

JACK Radio, which launched on digital radio in 2018, is no longer available.

Both new stations can be heard across the UK on DAB digital radio, online, in apps and on smart speakers.
