A new radio station from Scottish broadcaster STV has launched on DAB digital radio and online.
Presenters Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey launched the station at 8am this morning. The first song played on the new station was Promised You a Miracle by Simple Minds feat. KT Tunstall. The breakfast duo heard from Scottish stars including Amy McDonald, Ricky Ross and KT Tunstall during the first show.
The breakfast show hosts were unveiled last summer and since then a daytime line-up featuring Greigsy, Webster and Micky Gavin has been unveiled.
STV Radio is available on DAB or DAB+ in Central Scotland, North East of Scotland, Tayside, Ayrshire and Inverness, Moray and the Highlands. The station can also be found in the STV Player and online at stvradio.co.uk.
Jodie McCluskey will host The Late Show while Mike Macdermid hosts High School Hits on Friday and Saturday nights. Weekends will feature Alan Edwards, Micky Gavin and Jane McCarry and What’s On Scotland with Laura Boyd and Emma Cameron.
On Saturday afternoons between 2pm and 6pm listeners can join Ewen Cameron and Ronnie Charters ‘for the goals as they go in and the best music across the afternoon’ in The STV Radio Football Show. The programme is also available as a podcast on STV Player.
As the station broadcasts in Inverness, Moray, the Highlands and Tayside using the newer DAB+ format, some older digital radios that are not compatible with DAB+ will not be able to receive the station.
The radio station has featured weather forecasts on Tuesday, but not news bulletins. STV journalists are due to strike on 7th January.
