Radio and television presenter Jenni Falconer is joining Smooth Radio to host the breakfast show in London and a new Saturday show across the UK. The new breakfast show will also be available from 6am to 10am on digital radio station Smooth Extra.
Jenni Falconer takes over from Gary King, who will move to host Smooth’s new early breakfast show from Monday to Friday. Gary King will also host Saturday afternoons from 1pm to 4pm. Both programmes will be available around the country.
Drivetime presenter Angie Greaves, who joined the station from Magic last September, will also present a new Sunday show from 10am to 1pm. The station says the new programme will have the “perfect soundtrack to ease into Sunday morning”.
The Smooth Sanctuary at Seven will be hosted by Gary Vincent during the week and Tina Hobley every Saturday.
“I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Smooth family and truly honoured to help wake up London every weekday morning I’m no stranger to the early starts,” said Jenni Falconer.
“So I can’t wait to keep listeners company as they get ready for their day, set off to work or make their morning cuppa!”
Jenni Falconer presented the early breakfast show on sister station Heart until last year. The breakfast show outside of London will continue to be hosted by the existing local presenters.
The new schedule launches on Monday 6th January.
Smooth Radio is available on DAB digital radio, 97-108 FM and on digital television. Smooth Radio and Smooth Extra are also available on smart speakers and in the Smooth app.
