Non-stop election coverage from LBC

Coverage of general election night will be hosted by Iain Dale and Shelagh Fogarty on LBC.

The pair will kick-start ‘Britain Decides’ at 9.55pm tomorrow, followed by more than 24 hours of non-stop election coverage. They will be joined by Damian McBridge, former adviser to Gordon Brown, and Tim Montgomerie, the prominent Conservative blogger and columnist.

In what is predicted to be one of the tightest elections for some time, Lord Ashcroft will give his reaction to the exit poll at 10pm. Comedian and impressionist Rory Bremner will give his verdict on the campaign during the night.

Reporters will be contributing from more than 50 key constituencies, with political editor Theo Usherwood at Westminster. Correspondents will also be following the main party leaders in their own seats, as well as Darren Adam in Scotland.

Breakfast show host Nick Ferrari will take over at 5am with political guests including Sir Malcolm Rifkind, Dame Tessa Jowell and Sir Menzies Campbell.

The coverage will continue with James O’Brien and Andrew Pierce with listeners invited to have their say on the outcome of the polls.

James Rea, managing editor, LBC said: “LBC has its best political team in action covering the battle for Number 10 – a general election that will define a generation. There’ll be sharp insight and punchy opinion from presenters, guests and of course, reactions and views from an unrivalled supporting cast – our listeners.”
