LBC launches new spring schedule

Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg is joining LBC to host a live fortnightly phone-in.

From Monday 16th April Rees-Mogg will join Nick Ferrari at Breakfast from 9am. The station says listeners will be able to put their questions to the MP every two weeks, with no topic off limits.

He joins other high profile figures who have also taken calls on the news and talk station. Listeners are able to call programmes including Speak to Sadiq with the Mayor of London and Call the Commissioner with Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick.

Jacob Rees-Mogg said: “I am greatly looking forward to conversing with LBC’s listeners every fortnight. In the programmes I have done already, the good sense and wisdom of the callers has educated, informed and challenged me while furthering polite political discourse.”

In other changes to the schedule Tom Swarbrick returns to LBC as the host of the new weekend breakfast show, every Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 7pm. Before working in Number 10, Swarbrick was a chief correspondent and then weekend afternoon presenter at the station.

Ian Payne will host the early breakfast show from 4am to 7am, while Andrew Castle will present a new three-hour weekend programme.

James Rea, LBC’s managing editor, said: “Our new spring schedule is packed with a cast of the UK’s best broadcasters, with our two million weekly listeners in the starring role. They don’t hold back in challenging the nation’s political leaders on the issues that matter to them, so we’re looking forward to our new fortnightly phone in with Jacob Rees-Mogg.”

LBC is available on DAB digital radio across the UK, digital television, online, 97.3 FM in London and in apps.
