Danny Wallace to join Radio X

Writer and comedian Danny Wallace will host a Sunday morning show on Radio X from this weekend.

Danny will cover for normal host Russell Brand while he is working overseas.

The comedian previously presented the XFM Breakfast Show in 2011 and 2012. XFM became Radio X in late 2015, with Chris Moyles the current host of the breakfast show.

Before presenting on XFM, Wallace was known for collaborating with comedian Dave Gorman and the television programme ‘How to Start Your Own Country’. He also writes a weekly ShortList column and authored books including ‘Join Me’, ‘Awkward Situations for Men’ and ‘Yes Man’. The latter became a film starring Jim Carrey.

“Radio runs through me like a shoplifter through a pound shop and I am so pleased to be joining the hugely talented team at Radio X,” said Wallace.

“As ever, my intention will be to slowly bring about tensions and rivalry while undermining senior staff, all set to great music. I can’t wait to get started and will keep Russell’s boat warm for him.”

Danny Wallace will be on Radio X from this Sunday, 14th January, between 11am and 1pm.

Matt Deverson, managing editor of Radio X, said: “Danny is part of the family and a much-loved presenter, so we’re extremely excited to have him back on air. Our listeners can look forward to a hugely entertaining show from the multi-talented Danny on Radio X.”

Radio X is on DAB digital radio across the country, as well as 104.9 FM in London and 97.7 FM in Manchester. The station is also available through the Radioplayer app, the Radio X app and on their website at radiox.co.uk.
