Country music radio station Chris Country is now available on digital radio in London.
The station plays country music from established and new country music acts, including Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood. Every Saturday sees Bob Kingsley host the Country Top 40 followed by Chris Country Weekly.
In recent years country music has found new fans in the UK through emerging acts like Lady Antebellum, The Shires, Dexeter and Ward Thomas. Solo artists Kacey Musgraves and Eric Church have also received support from stations like BBC Radio 2. This month the fourth Country 2 Country festival took place at London’s O2 Arena.
Chris Country started broadcasting online in 2012 and has been available in Manchester, Cambridge and Portsmouth on digital radio for several months. However, those broadcasts are trials and coverage can be limited. The station is one of only two available on digital radio in the UK playing country music.
The launch in London sees the station available in Greater London and parts of Kent, Surrey, Bedfordshire and Essex.
